Crokinole Anyone?

Now, take a closer look...Not your ordinary crokinole! It's Golf Crokinole! Each round, you add another peg to your section in front of you (pegs=trees) which makes it more and more challenging as you go. There are water and sand traps to avoid as they will add to your score. As in real golf, you want the lowest score. Instead of +20, the centre hole is worth -5. We took it practically everywhere this past holiday season and it was a big hit.

Arts & Crafts with the Kids

What kid doesn't love to paint?

I am on a mission to find various objects for them to paint and express themselves creatively.

We started with a canvas. I stamped their names on cardstock, then cut them out with an exacto knife. Put a little temporary adhesive on the back of the letters, then let the kids go crazy with the colours they chose. Once the paint had dried, I lifted the letters off to leave their names the colour of the white canvas that was underneath.

Of course, I should have hung them up then, instead of leaving them propped up on the cupboard. The next day they started colouring in their names with markers and crayons. I try to relax and let go of my controlling tendencies and realize it's OK for them to draw on them, the canvases are THEIR creations, not mine.
